Trstmap is a map built from your friends’ recommendations: places from the people you trust. Save the places worth going back to with the note you would actually tell a friend, and see everything your circle has saved on one map. No star ratings from strangers, no sponsored listings.
Why we built it
Online reviews are broken: inflated ratings, bot-generated content and feeds optimised for engagement rather than honesty. The best recommendations still travel the old way — a friend telling you where to eat. Trstmap puts that word of mouth on a map.
What it does
- Save a place with a short note instead of a star rating; each place is private or shared with friends, private by default
- Add friends by username — a friendship exists only once both accept, with no followers and no public feed
- Friends’ places on your map, marked with their profile picture, and each friend’s whole map on their profile
- One map and one list, opening on the places around you, in light or dark mode
- No ads, no third-party analytics; data stored in the EU under GDPR
Status
Trstmap is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, with Android coming soon. Read more: recommendations from friends, not strangers.
